STORY
Authentic Phở: A true Vietnamese culinary masterpiece, phở is more than just a noodle soup; it’s a symphony of flavors. Its soul lies in the broth, typically simmered for hours with beef bones (or chicken for phở gà) and key aromatic spices like star anise, cinnamon, black cardamom, and ginger. This long simmering creates a rich, clear, and fragrant liquid that forms the base.
The bowl features flat rice noodles (bánh phở), tender slices of meat (commonly beef, often rare or cooked brisket), and is garnished with fresh herbs like cilantro, green onions, and Thai basil. It’s often served with a side of bean sprouts, lime wedges, and chili for diners to customize their experience, balancing salty, sweet, and umami notes.
